Join us August 19-21 in Charlottetown, PEI, Canada for ASI 2014:

Renewing Democracy through Social Justice: Adding New Voices.

The ASI 2014 theme, “Renewing Democracy through Social Justice: Adding New Voices”, will resonate with emerging and established leaders as well as those committed to social justice in our Atlantic communities.  With a program designed to encourage dialogue about the evolution of democracy and social justice in Canada, ASI 2014 will also serve as a forum for the voices of those historically under-represented in democratic institutions in Canada, including women, Aboriginal peoples, francophone people, immigrants, LGBTQ communities, and young people.

The Atlantic Summer Institute is a curriculum-based learning institute offering a program of progressive learning, which means that you will learn more each year that you attend. The workshops are participatory and interactive, encouraging you to share ideas and learn from the experiences of other participants. On completion of the curriculum, the ASI provides a Certificate of Participation, which may serve as a continuing education credit in some work settings.

Two Curriculum Pathways in the Specialization area are offered this year:

Gender, Diversity and Community Leadership

Building and Using Evidence for Social Justice
